BrightRock Battle of the Sports Challenge

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire” – Nelson Mandela

Inspired by this powerful quote from Nelson Mandela, we are proud to announce our sponsorship of the BrightRock Battle of the Sports Challenge.

What is the BrightRock Battle of the Sports Challenge?

The BrighRock Battle of the Sports Challenge invites the 3 players of the four biggest sports in South Africa to participate in a testing 200km challenge through Verneukpan.

Guided by our own renowned adventurer, Erik Vermeulen, three Proteas, Springboks, Ultra Marathon Runners and Bafana Bafana players will embark on a journey on foot over the Verneukpan, pulling their provisions on one light frame cart on ‘fat-boy’ mountain bike tyres. Each team has 4 days to complete the trip and the team with the quickest time, wins.

You can even track the event’s progress here.

Is there a cause?

The driving force behind the Challenge is raising money to provide frontline healthcare workers with much needed personal protective equipment.

How can you get involved?

Run, cycle, dance or even crawl 200km and do your bit to raise fund to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa. Each person participating will be asked to donate to the Event to Aid fund, in support of PPE for frontline healthcare workers.

If you are not up to a #200kmchallenge of your own, you can still support this amazing cause by donating towards it.
